Global GDP per capita, after a 1.3% increase in 2019 and a 5.3% decline in 2020 due to the pandemic, is projected to rise by 3.6% in 2021 and 2.6% in 2022. Two billion people, 2% of global employment, face challenges with informal jobs lacking basic protection. The pandemic significantly impacted 1.6 billion informal workers, leaving them at high risk of poverty and facing difficulties in recovering their livelihoods during the ongoing recovery.
