Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all
Energy poverty hinders global economic growth, affecting around 4 billion people who lack sufficient electricity for better living standards. Sub-Saharan Africa has the world’s lowest electrification access, with about 50% without electricity. This issue extends to remote Indigenous communities in Canada, Australia, South America, the Middle East, and Asia, facing high costs, emissions, and unreliable power sources. Addressing this challenge is crucial for sustainable development.
In QBS Co we believe that access to electricity is particularly crucial to human development as electricity is indispensable for certain basic activities, such as lighting, refrigeration/cooling, and communications, and cannot easily be replaced by other forms of energy. The use of energy is important in improving people’s standard of living including access to clean water and improved sanitation. As parts of the world are taking advantage of the Internet and Digital technologies and tools, many of these other communities need electricity to access the same benefits for education, business, and commerce. Our Energy Advisory services make this possible for global communities around the world.
