Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable
In 2018, the number of slum dwellers surpassed 1 billion, with Eastern/Southeastern Asia (370 million), sub-Saharan Africa (238 million), and Central/Southern Asia (226 million) being the most affected regions. In 2019, data from 610 cities in 95 countries revealed that around half of the urban population had convenient access to public transport. However, in 2020, COVID-19 response measures globally disrupted urban public transport, ranging from partial closures to total network shutdowns.
We believe in inclusive development and progress for the masses rather than just a few. The future should be brighter for all who have the capacity and are willing to do the hard work to achieve a sustainable, inclusive community.
